OLEXANDER FILBERT (July 26, 1911, Dubivtsi, Volgograd Region – 1996) – painter.

In 1931, Alexander Filbert entered the Kiev Art Institute at the Department of Professor Krychevsky. During the years of study, a poster created by him is published in mass circulation. For successfully completed thesis was immediately admitted to the Union of Artists of the USSR. He worked in the field of easel painting. In 1939, the artist moved to the regional center of the newly created in the Donbass Voroshilovgrad (since 1992 – Lugansk) region, where he became a teacher of special subjects at the regional art school. Here they created the Donetsk branch of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

Alexander Filbert founded a realistic art school in the Donetsk region. Among his students are many honored and folk artists of the republic. His paintings have been exhibited at 50 international and domestic exhibitions. A memorial museum of the artist was opened in Luhansk in the late 1990s. was awarded medals.
