MYKOLA KONONENKO (1940, Kazakhstan). He graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute (1977; teacher. R. Tishchenko). Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1985). Participant of all-Ukrainian, international art exhibitions. Mykola Kononenko’s work is characterized by a combination of high culture of realistic drawing with decorative colors and picturesque-plastic expressiveness. Author of monumental, full of philosophical sound, paintings and chamber works. His portraits, landscapes, still lifes impress with the freshness of color, full of poetic beauty. Some paintings are stored in the Museum of the History of Kyiv, Luhansk, Sumy and Cherkasy Museums of Local Lore.
